Crafty Things

I enjoy doing crafty things, and creating things that essentially make my life easier!

I call this my "Motherboard"!!  It is organization central!  I take the pictures off the wall on Sunday and fill out all of the information with a wet erase pen.  They are picture frames, so writing on the glass, simply wipes right off!   I chose to use wet erase pens because with them hanging on the wall, anything could wipe off dry erase!  It is my "Eat Sheet", Weekly Schedule, Cleaning Schedule, and Doctor Appt Sheets!

I love to make diaper cakes for friends!  This was not my first one, but I have never really made any 2 the same way!  This obviously was for a friend having a little girl!

This cake is one of the most recent I have made, it the gender of the baby is unknown!  Its the first gender neutral cake I have made, and it is probably my favorite cake I have made yet!  I love the colors!

I made birth announcement frames for a long time!  The were completely customizable, and are so beautiful hanging in a nursery!  I made a LOT of these for friends when they had their babies!

The following 4 pictures are off the craft that started it all!  A friend let me borrow a floor pillow that she had.  Abbie was about 2 months old when we started using it!  We would lay her in the corner of it, or place her on her belly on one of the sides!  She loved it, and at 18 months old... she still loves it!  Before giving the pillow back, I looked it over and decided it was definitely something I could make myself!

I tried to make one, and the first attempt, was a bit discouraging!  After I messed the 1st one up, I asked some friends to pay cost on a pillow and I would make them one!  I have now made over 30 pillows, and the orders still come in now and again!  They are great baby shower presents, and most orders that I get are for that purpose!  The best part about the pillows is that a baby working on sitting up wont crack their head on the floor if they topple over!  I put a few toys in with Abbie and if she fell over then she was still completely safe!  It made me feel much more comfortable going in the other room to make lunch or switch the laundry!  Abbie was right where I left her when I came back, but if she fell over she was laying there where I left her!  I have had 2 and 3 year olds over to the house who LOVE to run and jump in the pillow!  The center has quilt batting, or lately I have been using a batting like foam that is a little cushier!  The pillow also have a zipper, so the stuffing can be pulled out if necessary and the whole thing can be thrown into the washing machine!  It is such an awesome thing to have with babies around!  I have made them in any pattern you could probably name, but I ordered 8 bolts of super soft fleece and lately I have been making them with that fabric!  They are so awesome!!  I just cant preach about them enough!!!
